What is Addition?
Repeatedly checking in on loved ones to make sure they're safe. Counting, tapping, repeating certain words, or doing other senseless things to reduce anxiety or spending a lot of time washing your hands. All those behaviors can be considered as addition.
Compulsion and addiction would be a challenge in your life regardless of the nature or root cause?
Compulsive behaviors and addictions are coming from urge versus need. A compulsion is an insatiable urge to do something. Addiction is a need to do something to experience pleasure or remove discomfort.
Repeating days with daily activities are conducting our life to a lifestyle, and once the daily activities become a daily routine, it may involve you with some addiction as compulsive behaviors. Still, you may involve with some addictions because you like the feeling afterward, like alcohol, or like the feeling while making yourself busy with a hobby like video games. However, both have a repeating cycle that we don't even notice the nature of the behaviors or why we keep doing it, and all have adverse mental or physical effects in the extended period.
